Most people under roman rule would have learned to speek ancient greek. This is the art memorating the triumph over the jews. During the reign of agustus, there is an explosion of inscriptions, the romans go crazy with inscriptions. They made inscriptions of many materials, including birch wood and bricks. All of these tombs are always outside the city. This is probably the most significant tomb in rome. This was the tomb of a baker, and the scenes are of slaves making wheat and bread. In rome its important for women to be able to man the household, the same as in greece. The wo(cid:373)e(cid:374) (cid:272)ertai(cid:374)ly ow(cid:374)ed stuff, (cid:271)ut she (cid:272)ould(cid:374) t do a(cid:374)ythi(cid:374)g legally with it, (cid:271)ut she did ow(cid:374) it. Whe(cid:374) shes married cum manu, all her property moves over under her husbands control. When in sine marriage and tha father dies, she gets more legal freedom.
