Race, crime and racial bias in the canadian criminal justice. Explaining the race-crime connection: genetic theories, the importation model criminals who migrate in order to commit crime in. Canada: purposely migrate for criminal imperialism, crime models created overseas, how can we prevent migration from these countries, used to justify criminal deportation. 1st generation immigrants have lower rates of offending than native born canadians. Immigrants enclaves have lower levels of offending: this could be because we only allow certain immigrants, the strain model, the cultural con ict model, holds that some new migrates to canada have attitudes, beliefs, customs that contradict canadian. Questions: to what extent does the general public perceive racial bias. Percentage of respondents who believe that the police treat black people worse than white people: public poll on asians, white and black all agreed blacks were treated worse. Idea is that people perceive racial bias is a problem.
