Question: is legal aid representation as good as private representation? themselves in court. Legal aid workers often have their clients plead guilty. They try to deal with as many cases as possible as quickly as possible. Private lawyers are profit motivated and more likely to get an acquittal because they are more likely to go to trial. Top criminal lawyers have fees that are far out of reach from average citizens. The quality of representation you get in court as an accused person is directly related to the outcome of your case. Low to middle income who don"t qualify for legal aid are deciding to represent.
