Document Summary

1066, the influence of latin and french romantic languages means the introduction of new words. Old english had more endings that later english. The various invaders of britain were germanic people. They brought their languages, which then merged with the english language of the time. Using the word biography to define the language implies that there is an evolution in the language. It has changed and will continue to change. But, there is also an implication that the history of the language is linear, and that the evolution of the language is rapid and leaps from event from event. It also implies that we have arrived at a single form of the english language, when it really has not.
