Bread- Michael Crummey - Love is something that develops over time (like a flower) o Marriage for her was a compromise (thought practically), not out of love  Relates things in a direct manner, not very emo o Marriage doesn’t need love, Christian roots o Husband shows concern after she has been sick o After he leaves, starts to miss him a bit  Does traditional work so set in early rural culture o Husband cried and sharing his grief makes her love him o Starts with I, ends with we, union and togetherness of them and a promise of future union as well
