Document Summary

His idea of the new revolves around birth and new life. The housewife seems lonely, she takes every chance possible to talk to strange men. She lives behind the wooden walls of her husbands house which makes her seem as though she is imprisoned. She seems restrained and the poem is all about breaking restrains. He drives by this woman"s house and is fantasizing about her. Negligee vs a negligee; it defines the negligee as a state rather than an article of clothing. He is about movement, she is about stasis. Tucking in is suggestive because the line ends but the sentence continues. Fallen leaf compares her to something that could have been, suggests death. The bow acts as a nod of recognition, and the smile is a reflection of his fantasy. For williams, its about the evanescence of the moment. He is trying to dissect a women into pieces but the woman is confused.
