Mr is easy to compare with surrealism. Surrealism is contemporary and more of a style that belongs to french and spanish parts of. We often don"t have access to why we react and how we feel. Surrealism was an approach to art and literature that saw itself as a tool to unleash that unconscious mind into the world. It would reveal the unconscious mind to the world: ex. You write the first thing that comes to mind: no thinking about how others would respond to it. It"s supposed to mirror more of the unconscious mind. Interpretation of dreams would get you closer to your psyche. Works with imaginary, dream-like state very explicitly. Not a genre that writers regularly subscribe to. Surrealism was an artistic movement that people accepted and promoted. Hyper realism becomes so exaggerated that it"s hard to tell if it"s real. It acts more of a reminder of what was once real.
