The 1960's was a period known for an unprecedented desire for social changes in many
areas. Some movements for change took place within the reference group and others
were made by a large group of mostly young people who rebelled against the norms of
the reference group. Identify these movements for social changes and place them within
or outside of the reference group.
War with vietnam, thousands of soldiers being killed, opposition against the war
Civil rights movement
Hippies (counterculture) movement, stepped outside the reference group, wanted
to be freer, to use drugs, etc. Male hippies had long hair, dressed differently, etc.
