Hera asks semele how she knows that jupiter is really a god and not just some random guy. Semele says to jupiter, i want you to prove you"re a god. Jupiter, says you don"t really want to see that, and semele claims that he"s trying to get out of it. So jupiter throws his divine presence with his thunder, and then kills semele.
