But does not negate questions of food access. Context of mass production & marketing of cheap processed food ( substitutionism ) Mediated by individual & community capacities and needs including economic, & consolidation in the retail sector geographical/logistical, and considerations of culture & identity. If consumers begin to value things like ecological sustainability & worker welfare, they can use their purchasing power to buy products that reflect these values. Focus on consumer education & increasing transparency in the supply chain (personal relations, standards, certification, and labeling)
