Globalism is ideology that underpins globalization, sort of synonymous with neoliberalism: globalism is the state, globalization is the process. Common discourses about globalization: three myths, tide that lifts all boats, more of a tsunami, those (cid:449)ho do(cid:374)"t ha(cid:448)e (cid:271)oats are s(cid:272)re(cid:449)ed, new, globalization is structurally different that previous epochs of capitalist development. Inevitable: economic determinism, technology enables globalization, many policies and projects around the world are what jumpstarted and implemented globalization today. Globalization: bei(cid:374)g a(cid:271)le to rea(cid:272)h arou(cid:374)d the (cid:449)orld is (cid:374)ot (cid:374)e(cid:449), it"s just happe(cid:374)i(cid:374)g at a faster rate. Integration: farther, faster, better, stronger, more frequent connections, global competition, everybody is not competing against everybody. Capitalist expansion: extensive expansion: new territories, this is now done, except for like random uncontacted tribe in amazon jungle or north korea, capitalism is done expanding, it is everywhere.
