Scaling migration - from the global to the local. A stateless person: any person who is not considered as a national by any state through its nationality legislation or constitution. A refugee: someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war, or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Most likely, they cannot return home or are afraid to do so. War and ethic, tribal and religious violence are leading causes of refugees fleeing their countries. Canada is not so "exceptional" when it comes to immigration and refugee views (study finds) *a big focus is on what cities can do to help these immigrants. Ebrahim toure, came to canada seeking asylum, but did not have his papers and has been in jail for 5 years now.
