Labour geography is about understanding the micro economy of the space. Labour geography is nicely portrayed in paintings by diego rivera. Painted at height of fordism and taylorism: the geography of labour, phase focused on capitalist development, how capital is reshaping geography, industry and owners shape economic landscapes, ex. Labour is a commodity in this system: it is exchanged for money (a wage) As a commodity, labour has a use value: a practical function (ability to do something: ability to do work at a specific skill level for specific period of time, has exchange value: a price wage. Supply and demand labour is allocated depending on the market. If there were no mediators for the market relationships of commodities, there would be complete disaster.
