Document Summary

Method = a set of requirements for employment in theory assessment (implicit) Precision and accuracy: experience can confirm a theory. Accepted ontology- accepted views on the types of entities and interactions that populate the world. For new theories to be accepted- they must relate to the exiting data and experiments. Theories need to be tested before accepted. Don"t believe in theory, but look into it. Superstring says we live in an 11-dimensional world, but the accepted view is 3 dimensional. Hypothetic-deductive method: propose hypothesis, test it, accuracy and precision can justify it if it does not fight the pre-existing theory. It grasps the nature of a thing through intuition. It is deduced from the general intuitive propositions. No such thing as a fixed scientific method. Opinions change the availability and factualness of a theory. Believe there is a theory that explains the transition between one theory or method to the next.
