Document Summary
Natural philosophy was studies in ancient greece in which was the closest theme to science at the time. They were trying to find out the nature of truth and knowledge. It is especially applied to the physical sciences. And natural history complements natural philosophy. (descriptive account to the nature in our world, plants animals etc. ) While looking at the descriptions of these animals, they would se if these descriptions are interpreted in the bible and religious scriptures (natural history). There were references to the sciences back then, but not what we consider science today. Natural philosophers thought the science we condsider today yielded unscientific evidence and therefore never considered it science or math. Theology was considered the queen of the sciences. Theology was a subject which you could learn things for certain since there were scriptures. Geometry and arithmetic were big studies in the ancient greek times, whatever was related to quantities, including calculus.
