African history is studied with beginning in european content, when they discover it and begin to civilize the continent and export slaves etc. Africa is often seen as an object and not a subject. People viewed africa as the object in which people act upon it. Agency in the sense that people or organization has the ability or autonomy to act in some situations. History written by african historians has a different path, history of victimization which is another way of skewing the history and is mainly victim based. Afrocentric history, seeing history in the point of view of african people experiences.
