Does not compare to modernity and is not evoluionary. Primiive: refers to the origin, and connotes simplicity. Archaic ways of life this concept is directly connected to progress. Whenever it is used, we think of it as progress. A group of people who are evaluated with rudimentary characterisics as a negaion of modernity. Primiive is everything that the west" is not.
