WHY DID THE WAR GO ON FOR SO LONG?
The war went on for so long due to the conflict between catholics and the protestants
and because all of the king’s of the states strived for more and more power.
WHY WAS IT SO VIOLENT?
It was so violent because each state wanted to be better than the other.
WHY DID THE STATES INTERVENE (join the war)?
Denmark entered war in return for money from England because England did not want
to enter war because its army was not strong enough to enter a battle however they
were in a great economic condition. Denmark needed money as they had spent too
much money on their army and could not balance it out with their economy.

-By the 1500s the Habsburg managed to control almost all of Europe.
-Due to external threats it was very hard for Habsburg to control a huge territory.
-The larger the territory the harder it is to defend yourself.
-Habsburg used love as a way to concur land through marriage and family ties.
-Charles the fifth retired due to the fact that it was too much for him to control a huge
territory, upon his death, Italy and Spain went to his son and Austria and Germany went
