Document Summary

Over the last decades the concept of industrial revolution has been constantly revised and recreated. The analysis from 1950 s would be about who went faster who went not as fast and why. Meriman gives you reasons why it started in england, like abundance of national resources, and agricultural revolution. The debate of what has happened during the industrial revolution is now more lively than ever, and some say that the research on it requires new set of textbooks; meriman can be a part of it. Thinking of this as a process makes us realize not only what happened back then but what still intensifies today. Rapid rise of industrial production can t compare to traditional in 1870 in paris and average unit of production had 7 people working in it not what we think about factories that are over pack. People were doing things at home, and everywhere there were different things produced in small factories.
