Document Summary

Finishing up frequency distributions and graphical tools interval-ratio variables. Ir variables are more complex because there"s lots of values that the variables can take, esp in large cases. You can"t show it for all the people. Note that there"s a frequency of 1 in each category. When we have interval-ratio variables, we commonly collapse a range of scores into a manageable number of categories (aka intervals). Decide how many categories are good for it and how wide the intervals should be. Interval width is a function of how wide the range of scores is and how many categories you wish to include. **collapsing is also something that you could do if you had a lot of categories. Maybe lots of countries with 1 or 2 people so with these uncommon categories, make them as homogenous as possible. We have a sample of 40 adults and we wish to present a frequency distribution of the variable age.
