What do you wanna see in an action film: a genre (sort of, a formal mode of film making (sort of) they tend to be louder, a lot more violent, larger than life visuals, hyper real sounds. tend to have a simplistic storyline, usually: a marketing term (sort of) really popular, because of its reputation as dumb cinema: physically idealised violence. choreography of people fighting, choreo of effects, of explosions these things can be really complex: action cinema is quite complex, and very lucrative, a black hole that pulls all kinds of films into it (sort of)
