Narration is the process by which the story information is made available to us via plot, and how it does so. Recall that style is the selection of medi- um-specific elements and the deployment of these elements in a systematic fashion. In terms of narration, plot provides the pattern, while style provides the realization. The two large scale formal systems we will be studying: the narrative and stylistic sys- tems. Narration is the process whereby plot and style interact to promote the viewer"s con- struction of the story. Narration is the distribution of story information, facilitated by the arrangement of se- lected narrative events (plot). The distribution of that information will happen in a unique way because of the stylistic choices made. Unrestricted when you have more knowledge than the characters. The narration can constantly modify its range of knowledge.
