Nouns (NOMI):
***Italian words will end in vowels.
All Italian nouns have gender, even if they refer to objects—they are either
masculine or feminine.
Nouns that refer to males are usually masculine, and those that refer to females
are usually feminine (exception persona is feminine, but can refer to either
male or females).
Ex. Masculine
amico (male friend), studente (male student), attore (actor)
Feminine
amica (female friend), studentessa (female student), attrice (actress)
Usuall, ous that ed i o are asulie, ad ous that ed i a are
feminine.
Ex. Masculine
libro (book), tavolo (table), ufficio (office)
Feminine
Casa (house), domanda (question), idea (idea)
Nous that ed i e a e either asulie or feiie. Hoeer, a o as a
part of the ending will usually indicate that it is masculine.
