Aggregates of tau are present within the neuron presening degeneraion of the neurons and axon tau inclusions are diferent for each tauopathies (ad is lame like / tear drop: reacive astrocyic gliosis. Phosporylaion highly phosphorylated kinases including gsk-3b (target of lithium used in schizophrenia but also can be used for ad) and cdk5 pp2a is a phosphatase. Normal brains have ~30/85 residues are phosphorylated in diseased brains, tau is hyperphosphorylated . Tau is exclusively found in the axons of neurons in disease, tau is mis-sorted and it is not only found in the axon but also the dendrites causing loss of the dendriic spines and degeneraion of the axon Ad memory impairment, behavioural changes, etc no mutaion in tau causes ad but aggregates contain both 3r and 4r . Pick"s disease (3r tau disease: sporadic pathological inclusions are called pick bodies they don"t take up the enire cell body .
