9.2 Differential Equations Direction Fields & Euler’s Method: Overview Many differential equations cannot be explicitly solved for solution. But even without an explicit solution, graphical approach using direction fields can be used to learn a lot about the solution. Direction Fields (or Slope Fields) Equation for gives the slope at any point( ) on the graph, called the solution curve. Picking sample points across the plane, the direction field is formed which helps visualize the general shape of the solution curves by showing the direction the curve moves.
