Buddhist images are sometimes sexual in nature whereas this is not the case in. However, buddhism is actually very conservative towards sex: talk of sex is taboo. Sex according to the catholic church: always related to the intention of procreation, not for fun (sacred) Creating more human beings is seen as the plan of god. Therefore, being unmarried is not a good thing. Birth is not necessarily a good thing, as all lives suffer in samsara.
