Terms such as race" and concept of normalcy" are relatively recent inventions and have changed over time. How science has been used to construct inequalities/challenge inequalities. When we think about the equity entry points, we think about the positions of disadvantage. We need to also think about how the forms of privilege. I can go shopping alone without fear of being harassed. I can turn on television and see people of my race in prestigious positions. I can dress in second hand clothes and not answer letters and not have people conclude that these are because of my race. If i am asked to talk to the person in charge i can be pretty sure i will be talking to someone of my race. I can choose flesh coloured band-aids that more or less match my skin.
