When we are born, we only have the collective unconscious, and it takes long to get to the personal unconscious. We are not taught to speak the language; we are given the chance to speak. Collective unconscious is limited capacity, it has no boundary. Whatever is in your conscious, you have something in your unconscious. Id is only the bad stuff, not like the shadow. Shadow has both good stuff and the good things. Mara is buddha"s shadow, and the things that prevent him to become enlightened. You make sense of the mara, naming it. A role that you take on that you think you are like that. Celebrities, they always mix the role with the persona. And they will have the anima in the unconscious, in their fantasies and dreams.
