Jung prefer the word psyche or psychic rather than mind or mental, since mind and mental usually means conscious. The psyche usually includes all thoughts, feelings, behaviours which is both conscious and unconscious. The term psyche usually emphasizes the wholeness that how jung view a person than view a person as function as parts. Saw that humans were inherently whole and do not have to strive for it. All you have to do is get out the way of the inherent impulse to achieve wholeness and nurture it and prevent it from fragmentation and conflict. The part of our mind that can be directly aware of. Through 4 mental functions: thinking, feeling, sensing, intuition, and 2 attitudes: extraversion and introversion, the infant begins to differentiate their own consciousness from others and will contribute to their character.
