But there is an unavoidable convergence of the two age related diseases. Aknowledge the role of cholesterol and lipids. Recruitment and activation of certain immune cells. This enabled plaque to grow and rupture. But also lipid deposits could incite immune cells. Used to treat very rare inflammatory diseases. April 2010 they started enrolling 10,000 patients who had signs of inflammation and were at risk of heart disease to test the effect of the drug against heart disease. So some inflammation that causes coronary disease can also cause cancer.
