Set up a lyceum so people could come to be his followers than plato s. also because plato s academy was not passed onto him. People wanted to kill him but he ran off. Both plato and aristotle set up schools in athens. Their work was written to be taught inside their own school and then they wrote work that was to be circulated. Just like we don t know how plato would teach in his own school we don t know how aristotle would argue persuasively. Despite the fact the writing is more challenging everything we don t like about plato is taken care of in aristotles. Aristotle wants to start with common moral consciousness. His account is anchored in ways platos was not.
