Liberalism is a reaction to conservatism; socialism is a synthesis of conservatism and liberalism and rejects both. Conservatism = thesis; liberalism = antithesis; socialism = synthesis. Authority social order; chaos not break out strong state. Accept hierarchy as natural in society (old french society); or natural like in the church, monarchy, nobility, etc. (institutions today are still hierarchical. Community (a hive); organic and class harmony; there is dignity in accepting station in life. Freedom reason and freedom as big achievements of french revolution; freedom to accumulate, consume, have, to get, etc. Equality over hierarchy; equality of opportunity specifically; equal chance to get ahead. Individual (a marketplace); there is no social class, just various income groups; Freedom different from liberals freedom from poverty, from want, etc. Equality not hierarchy; equality of condition; at the end of the day there. A community (a hive); classless because there is class-solidarity.
