Role of science is to dissect reality in order to discover important causal links. Science (political) is always a simplification, highlighting some things and putting others in the background. Mcdonalds within their borders have never engaged in conflict. Possess a permanent population (citizenship v. nomads nation states?: nation state: state whose permanent population has a similar cultural, linguistic and language background, located mostly in western europe (ie. germany & france) Sovereignty: free from interference by other states in their internal affairs: the government that is sovereign is the highest power and does not answer to anyone. Possess a monopoly on the legitimate use of force, coercion and violence both within and outside of their territory.
