Document Summary

Cardiac output = heart rate x stroke volume: units come out to litres per minute meaning flow rate, cardiac output is essentially flow rate exiting heart into aorta, initiation of understanding of flow. Blocked aortic valve was right shiftied on pv c generally heart rate has less effect on loop. D, increased filling due to leaky aortic valve. Intrinsic effect of cardiac control; heart intrinsic; heart has ability to return to venous return, and as a result, has the ability to beat even harder when it stretches again. Preload = if tiny stretch of ventricle, small amount of blood returning to blood, weaker pumping action, smaller degree of force related to that cardiac cycle and vice versa. Slowing heartbeat allows more time for the heart to fill again. Sever blood loss: less blood on venous side, lower bp, decreasing sv; less time for filling, less pumping action. Afterload: that pressure which the heart must pump against.
