Collecting the data that is empirical evidence for the claims of ones scientific practice in integral feature of scientific practice is the use of careful observation, measurement, and manipulation of variables something measured should be in careful observation. We tend to forget the legitimate use is (theory/ fact/ research used loosely) Based of objective", valid" and reliable", can be generalized for projected, made public and can be replicated. The fact that its scientific doesn"t mean that it"s certain or true, just grasps reality better. All of these raise confidence that the claims do not have subjective bias. We just try to reduce bias and increase accuracy. In order to check for consistency and coherence, we need to be able to compare different results according to the same measures. This requires operational definitions: statements that describe the procedures (or operations) We try to give a good argument for operational deciton and then see if there is a rational consensus on this.
