Your reflexes synapse into the spinal cord. Beyond the brain: the peripheral nervous system. Transmits information to the cns and responds to messages from the cns to perform certain behaviors or make bodily adjustments. It is concerned with the internal environment: how are things going on inside you. It sends information from your glands/internal organs to your cns (somatosensory neurons). Somatosensory are sensations from within the body (for example, when your bladder is full). Sympathetic division of the ans: It prepares the body for action ( fight or flight ). It does a series of things: so for example, it dilates your pupils. It lets more light into your pupils so you could see that danger in order to better react for it. Relaxes the bronchi in your lungs so you can take in enough oxygen. It also contracts the vessels going into your internal organs restricting blood flow to your intestines, to your skin.
