Document Summary
A characteristic or condition that changes or has different values for different individuals. A variable that is manipulated, in order to see its impact on the dependent variable. A variable that is measured, in order to see how it is affects by the independent variable. Definitions of theoretical constricts that are stated in terms of concrete, observable proce. Sometimes variables are well defined, measuring height, skin colour etc. Some variables are not well defined and cannot be directly observed. Constructs: internal attributes or characteristics that cannot be directly observed bu understood i. e. intoxication -- > physiological measure. May result in claims regarding the frequency of some behavior. May lead to claims regarding the association between two variables. Allows researchers to make claims about associations between variables, but not cau claims. Positive relationship, when variables move in the same direction uals able rocedures d but t causal tion. Positive relationship, when variables move in the same direction.
