Actually blue & black: striking example in huge difference in perception, our eyes are doing quick processing/correction (perceiving blue & black through perceiving a gold/bright light - perceiving white & gold through perceiving a shadow) You do not perceive the world "as it is. " You perceive it as you are: our experiences help us determine what we perceive, our perceptions are different from animals, our perceptions are also different to flags (swastika & confederate) - elicit different responses. Our brain: the only language our brain understands is with neurons & neurotransmitters, our sensory system (hair receptors, olfactory system, taste-buds, retina) = "translators" - translate outside information into electrical signals/action potential. Sensation: involves the detection of external stimuli (ex. Important things to keep in mind: everything is experienced in your brain, the world you live in is constructed by you, context/expectations play a huge role, change is important.
