Document Summary
Basic definition of learning and memory per se. Even as far back as aristotle, we find that the study of learning and memory has a very anthropocentric perspective. Learning and memory is focused on learning in human beings at the behavioural level. Memory would require some sort of change in the brain in order for it to work. Distinction between learning or adaptation when an organism is exposed to different environment (acquisition of language etc. ) The extent to which these biochemical changes in the nervous system when organisms acquire information has something to do with learning at the human level. Implies that everything we learn is involved in the biochemical changes. Can be altered by the number of channels. Simple aps are the basis of information of transfer and storage. Not all neurons are myelinated - will require the brain to be 3x larger.
