Document Summary
Your ability to conjure up images in your mind that are visual in nature. Something that many people have to some degree. They can imagine it so clearly in their mind that it seems like they"re there. People who understand the concept of mental/visual imagery but are unable to conjure up any images in their mind whatsoever. Two extremes, there are many people who fall in the middle of the spectrum. Usually we assume that people have the same experiences we do, unless we prove otherwise. We originally have no reason to think that other people cannot visually imagine things in the same way we can. Just because you can do a certain extent, does not mean others can. Tried to look at cognition by asking what is the function or value or utility of having a certain mental ability. Memory is so we can learn from our experiences and not make the same mistakes we made before.
