This knowledge exists in the form of concepts: concepts: The mental representation of a class or individual. The meaning of objects, events, and abstract ideas: ex. when asked what a cat is, we say an animal that is furry, has paws, meows and eats mice. These traits describe your concept of a cat: categories: Includes all possible examples of a particular concept. Thus the category cats includes tabbies, siamese cats, persian cats, wildcats, leopards and so on. Its when things like an animal or a tree are hard to describe with a de nition is when this approach is awed: another aw is how most categories have the same de nition.
