But there are biases that do affect how we judge a case --> extra-legal bias. These biases can be reduced if you remind them about it esp when the social norm is to not have these biases such as in canada. Maximum punishment is fine or 6mo in prison, or both if really bad. Can arrest you without a warrant and you don"t need to submit fingerprints. Hybrid offences --> this is like when you have a lot of offenses and it becomes indictable. Could go up to life in prison and very high fines. Differences in juries and federal vs provincial prisons.
