So after a trial a judge writes a judicial summary (regardless of conviction or not) Connolly and read (2006) coded 2,064 judicial summaries of historic child sexual abuse cases between 1986 and 2002. So they looked at english speaking cases where the trial was historic (so 2 years from end of abuse to trial). After coding these summary they wrote some papers and the typical abuse situation looks like: Usually between 5 and 13 years of age when the abuse began & Usually between 9 and 16 years of age when the abuse ended. So this is repeated abuse overall long period of time. The typical accused was male (99%) and 33 years of age when abuse began and 36 when abuse ended. But in some cases where there was a threat it was usually a threat against the physical safety of the child or the physical safety of a loved one of a child.
