Document Summary

Injecting adrenaline, which creates arousal, does not make an emotion. Jamesian: bodily changes follow directly the perception of the exciting fact, and that our feeling of the same changes as they occur is the emotion. Cognitive: that there are biological parts of the brain that deal with why we have emotions. The intensity of how much the body is aroused is what"s important. The body arouses to different emotions, not specifically just one type. But arousal is not all that is needed when experiencing an emotion. Participants (injected with epinephrine or saline) in this study were in a room either with a person who was happy or angry. In the euphoric condition: confederate was doing things that looked like he/she was in a good mood . like doodling and hula hooping. Participants in the anger condition: confederate was angry because of offensive questions in the questionnaire like if their mom was in an affair etc
