Nine dimensions of temperament ( * most robust) Approach or withdrawal (behavioural inhibition)* - shyness. Attention span and persistence* - how long can they focus, or how resilient they are. Easy temperament 40%; regular with rhythmicity, reactions aren"t too intense, threshold is not low for trigger, quality for mood is a little more positive. Difficult temperament 10%; 70% in nyls behaviour disorder by age 9; 30% those that did not were characterized as parents as zesty , ebullient . Slow to warm up temperament 15%; mild between easy and difficult; not that reactive, but withdrawn.
