History of Psychology
The science of psychology has come a very, very long way over the past few thousand years.
Earlier consciousness was thought to be resided in heart/brain/spirit… Greeks thought it was in the brain.
Now we know it is due to the entire Central Nervous System.
Science has always been contextualized in a larger set of societal/ historical/ political/ ideological/
Post “enlightenment” the rise of the supposed rational, self-interested human; deep divide between
cognition and emotion; emphasis on the individual as the unit of analysis.
Post biological revolution and neuroscience the remerging of the conciousness, dependence on society
