Blind sight: damage to occipital lobe; reslults in lack of vision in certain region. The man still perceived visual world through amygdala. Pictures of faces put in front of him, he cant see the face. Testers ask him what does he see, and he makes a guess. He ends up being right as the amygdala is still observing face. One brain area responsible for human qualities like control, emotions and good decisions is the prefrontal cortex in the frontal lobe. Biggest area that differentiates us from other animals. different parts of it process different between two areas. One side is rational, and the other emotion. A good decision most people thinking is a purely rational decision. Women with pfc problem who brought home men did not pick up on dangerous situation. She can say i know this is a stupid thing to do, yet she has a positive emotional response and the danger sense is offline.
