We think that we don"t live with it anymore but its just more hidden. Continue to structure society, some groups have more opportunities and resources. How race, class, and gender all combine to shape an individual"s experience. Just because two people are both hispanic - it doesn"t mean they"re the same, you have unique characteristics that will change how they are treated (being female & working class) Viewing societal knowledge as being located within an individual"s specific geographical location. We all have a pov based on class, gender race, and that influences how we see the world. Ppl think there"s a god"s pov when ppl do experiments but standpoint epistemology denies that. Understand how ppl are not just under 1 vector of oppression - gender minority and cultural minority. Self-valuation and self-definition are two ways of resisting oppression. Its to avoid a depressive world - movements (black lives matter) A matrix of domination - 4 domains of power.
