Not to be confused with probability sampling techniques such as a simple random sample: basically assigning numbers to people and then assigning them to experimental/control groups randomly (i. e. odd numbers are part of the control group, even numbers are part of the experimental group, unlike probability sampling which aims to make the diverse two groups of people as similar as possible, randomization aims to make the people in the control group and the people in the experimental group as similar as possible.
