The first nations were the people who had the most power, and they knew what they were doing. The fur trade were all based on the support and cooperation with first. Nations people, the colonizers couldn"t do trade by themselves. When the colonists get more, they start to get alliance with first nations, e. g. , treaties, negotiations in the early days, the footing with first nations and european people were quite even. M tis (decedents of european and first nation, who did not have a really comfortable positions in both groups, eventually they get their own group). As time goes by, more and more european colonizers, first nations became less and less useful for colonizer alliance. Colonizers gradually tell those first nations that they are not that useful, so they send them off the land for.
